The private class allows me to receive the perfect instructions for my needs. The classes are varied and interesting with new challenges each timer. The instruction are communicated in a positive constructive manner. The studio is comfortable with good light and space for working.

Laurel Rath, Sharing a Passion for Art

Since completing my Bachelor of Fine Art (Interdisciplinary, Minor Art History) at NSCAD University I have been sharing my passion for art through teaching at Studio Rath, as well as for the Art Gallery and for the City of Halifax. I spent several years as a Guide at the Art Gallery of Nova Scotia (AGNS). I also have a teaching degree and have a BSc and MSc in biology (Yes, I like to learn!). I have taught all levels from children to seniors.

Art classes not only teach principles, processes and history of art but teach self-confidence, respect for others, sharing, manual dexterity, decision making, problem solving, among other skills!

Give yourself, or your child a gift. Open the world of art.
